quest boo was the first AI character i ever brought to life. he's been a prompt on top of someone else's model this whole time. so i trained him his own brain - a real neural net, on a laptop, no cloud. part 1: the forge, the map, and the world model.
HE'S REAL NOW
- QB runs 100% local. a 12B open model + his soul, on a macbook. no cloud, no api key, no subscription.
- graded, not vibed. a 56-question exam at the exact settings he chats at. when the test leaked into training, we caught it and fixed the ruler.
- the kingdom has its own neural net. characters get trained on top of it in ~30 minutes each.
- part 2 is coming. new characters, the soul dial (yes there's a dial that controls how strong his soul is), and QB running live on stream.
