YOUR WORKFLOW IS THE PROMPT

most people who want to start using AI agents don't know where to begin. i will tell you the first step

most people who want to start using AI agents don't know where to begin. they think they need to learn to code or pick the right tool or watch hours of tutorials first. they don't.

this week i want to give you one thing to do. one homework assignment. it takes 15 minutes, it's free, and it will directly set you up for everything we talk about in this newsletter going forward.

i gave this same advice on a panel at Bitcoin 2026 last week and one of the other panelists literally turned to the crowd and said "start tonight." so i'm telling you the same thing!

the assignment

open a blank doc on your phone or laptop. and just write what your day looks like.

what does your morning look like. what do you check first. what tools do you use at work. what tasks do you repeat every single week. what takes the most time. what do you hate doing.

don't make it pretty. don't use a template. just write it like you're explaining your job to a friend over text.

be as specific as you can. "i check slack, then go through email sorted by client, then update the project tracker" type of detail.

that's the whole assignment.

why this matters

that doc you just wrote is the entire prompt.

when you eventually paste your workflow into an AI agent (claude, chatgpt, codex, whatever) and say "help me with this," the agent reads your actual life. not a generic youtube template. not someone else's workflow. yours.

it sees what tools you use. it picks up on the order you do things. it finds the repetitive parts. then it starts suggesting ways to handle the stuff you don't need to be doing yourself.

this is the difference between "i tried AI and it didn't really do anything" and "wait this just saved me two hours."

context is everything. your workflow doc is the richest context you can give an agent about your life. without it, you're just asking random questions and getting random answers.

it compounds

the doc isn't a one time thing. you keep it alive.

every time you notice something new that's annoying or repetitive, add a line. paste the updated version back into the agent. it rewrites itself around the new context.

do that for a month and the agent knows your work better than most people you work with. same doc, just grew up with you :)

what to do right now

seriously, tonight. before the next issue drops.

grab your phone. write your day in ugly detail. what did you do today, what tools did you touch, what took forever, what was annoying.

save the doc somewhere you won't lose it. that's your workflow doc. you're going to need it.

in future newsletters we're going to get into the actual tools, how to set up agents, how to connect them to your workflow. but none of that matters if the agent doesn't know what your day looks like. this doc is the foundation.

write it now. you'll thank yourself later!

i posted this exact moment from the panel on X:

and if you want the full 26-minute panel, bitcoin magazine uploaded it. we covered why AI agents would die without bitcoin, the $5 trillion agent economy, why the ad-supported internet is dead, and why every company should be shipping skill.md files for agents:

go write the doc. next issue builds on it.
